Why We Started

Hurricane Helene devastated Spruce Pine with 140mph winds and 30 inches of rain, leaving families without homes, power, and water. The Sibelco Spruce Pine Foundation was established to provide immediate relief and focus on long-term community resilience. 

Our Principles:  

  • Need: Direct aid to individuals and families most in need. 

  • Impact: Transparent grant approval process for maximum impact. 

  • Voids: Filling gaps between government aid and nonprofit efforts. 

  • Accessibility & Inclusion: Available to all, independent of affiliations. 

  • Transparency: Annual giving reports to ensure accountability.
